New recording of “L’Arlesiana” on CPO Label Released

CPO Records has just released a new recording of Cilea’s “L’Arlesiana” which includes the newly-rediscovered aria for Federico, “Una Mattina.” Joseph Newsome, on his blog Voix des Arts, praises Giuseppe Filianoti for “ringing nonchalance of his singing.” The recording is available for purchase on www.jpc.de and will released in the US in May, 2014

Giuseppe Filianoti is featured as part of Live From Lincoln Center’s 2012 Richard Tucker Opera Gala telecast airing on PBS December 13 (check local listings).  He will be singing the aria “Quando le sere al placido” from Verdi’s “Luisa Miller” and the Septet from Offenbach’s “Les contes d’Hoffmann.”

A rediscovered aria

A REDISCOVERED ARIA for Federico will be interpreted by Giuseppe Filianoti on July 14 and 17 in concert performances of L’ARLESIANA at the Theater Freiburg. Thanks to Maestro Mario Guido Scappucci for his orchestration of the piece. He made it possible for this aria to see the light again!!! Thanks also to Casa Sonzogno who decided immediately to print this masterpiece.
